Are you not sure which sub-account type you should give someone? Our sub-accounts make it easy for you to give someone as much or as little access as needed. Use this guide for how to choose the right user role for your sub-accounts.
What are Sub-Accounts?
Sub-accounts in OptinMonster grant varied and controlled access to coworkers and / or clients to certain aspects of your OptinMonster account.
Depending on the User Role you grant your sub-account users, the user may only have access to view campaigns, or they could have full administrator privileges and edit every campaign for every website and integration connected to your OptinMonster account.
For more information on creating and managing sub-accounts, see how to use OptinMonster’s sub-accounts.
Viewer accounts is the most limited type of sub-account. Viewers can view, but not make changes to, campaigns only for assigned websites.
When you create a viewer account you will be able to choose which domain(s) the account holder has access to. They will only be able to see the campaigns assigned to those domains.
Viewer accounts are good for those who need to see the campaign, but not edit it, like clients.
Author accounts are a mid-level sub-account. Authors can view, create, edit, and duplicate campaigns only for assigned websites. Authors may also view integrations and analytics they’ve been assigned. They cannot publish or pause campaigns.

Author accounts are best suited for those who will do creation and design work, but not make the final decisions, like a designer or an intern.
Manager accounts are a higher level sub-account. Managers can view, create, edit, duplicate, delete, publish, and pause campaigns only for assigned websites. Managers may also create, edit, and delete integrations and analytics accounts they’ve created or been assigned.

Manager accounts are good for those making decisions about the settings, like a site manager or marketing lead.
Admin accounts are the highest level sub-account. Administrators have full access and permissions for everything, except suspending or canceling the OptinMonster account, and editing owner information.
Administrator accounts are best suited for someone actively involved with the content and its sub-account users, like a business or technology lead.
