Add Extra Fields
This integration supports Field Mapping, so you can easily add radio buttons, phone fields, text areas, number fields, lists, and more!
Before you begin using Field Mapping with Campaign Monitor, please consider the following:
- Custom fields are referred to as Subscriber Custom Fields in your Campaign Monitor account.
- The following custom fields are reserved in Campaign Monitor and cannot be mapped to:
Phone
(use the Phone field to send data to this Field)Coupon Code
(the Coupon Code won when creating a Gamified spin-to-win campaign)Coupon Label
(the Coupon Label when creating a Gamified spin-to-win campaign)OptinMonster
(if you have custom branding enabled, the field will be called{BrandName}
)OptinMonster Campaign Name
(if you have custom branding enabled, the field will be called{BrandName} Campaign Name
)Privacy Consent
(when using the Privacy Consent checkbox)
- OptinMonster will look for variations of existing custom fields for Phone. If it finds a custom field called
Phone Number
(orSMS
orphonenumber
or others) for instance. It will send the phone information to that custom field, as opposed to the usualPhone
custom field. - Custom fields are automatically created on Campaign Monitor as text fields. You can also manually create the attributes in Campaign Monitor before mapping them to OptinMonster by following this guide.

Testing
We strongly recommend you test the optin form before publishing your campaign to ensure it is working as you expect.
Before you begin, please be aware of the following details when testing Campaign Monitor integrations:
- Previously submitted or already subscribed leads may be treated differently by Campaign Monitor than new leads. For this reason, we recommend using a completely unique email address each time you test submit your campaign’s form. You can use a free tool like TempMail.io or learn how to create unlimited unique email addresses from a single Gmail account.
- If the lead is captured in Campaign Monitor but you do not receive any automated emails it indicates the integration from OptinMonster to Campaign Monitor is correct, and the issue is with the automated email configuration. Campaign Monitor controls email automation exclusively. If you require assistance in troubleshooting email automations we recommend reaching out to Campaign Monitor support directly.
