Wild Water Adventures is a Canadian based whitewater outfitter. Vistiors to their website are adventure-seeking nature lovers eager to ride the wild rapids of Canada’s Kicking Horse river.
There are many points in the booking journey where a potential rafter might feel overwhelmed and abandon the thought of booking a trip. TOMIS recognized this and decided to encourage visitors to reach out for help planning their excursion.
The optin itself was simple, but the results it generated were huge!
A single lightbox optin was targeted to display on every page. They triggered the optin with our exit-intent technology, which displays the optin when the visitor’s mouse motions towards the browser bar. That’s a sure sign they’re about to leave the website.
TOMIS used the lightbox popup to capture the visitor’s attention before they left the site.
The optin simply asked, “Need help planning your next trip?”
They used the Transparent lightbox template to easily add their own graphic behind the optin form.
The form used in the optin asked for the readers’ name, email address and dates they might like to book a trip. The form uses integration with Zapier to immediately send the lead’s contact information to Wild Water’s email inbox.
Once received, a sales rep checks to see if they dates the prospect shared are available, then replies directly. They walk them through planning a trip, and answer any questions they might have.
Adding this optin to the website paid off in a big way. Wild Water Adventures saw 35,500 impressions and 160 conversions as a result of this trip planning optin campaign. With an average booking value of $385, that one optin made Wildwater $61,600 in 2017!
