How to Connect OptinMonster with Feedburner

OptinMonster makes it easy to add a Feedburner custom HTML optin form to your campaigns. Connecting OptinMonster to your Feedburner email list is very easy. Follow our step by step guide on how to connect OptinMonster with Feedburner.

  1. Log into Your Feedburner Account
  2. Edit the Form Code
  3. Add Form to Custom HTML Integration
  4. Style the Custom Form (optional)

Step 1 – Log into Your Feedburner Account

To obtain your Feedburner HTML optin form, log into your Feedburner account and navigate to the Email Subscriptions page from the left-hand menu. If you haven’t already enabled Email Subscriptions you’ll first need to activate this feature for your account.

Before you can use Feedburner's Email Subscription feature you need to activate it in your account.

Once activated, Feedburner will provide you with an HTML form you can copy.

Feedburner will provide you with the HTML form code you can add to your campaign.

Step 2 – Edit the Form Code

The HTML form code provided by Feedburner needs to be modified before adding to the Custom HTML integration field. The form code provided will look similar to the following:

<form style="border:1px solid #ccc;padding:3px;text-align:center;" action="https://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify" method="post" target="popupwindow" onsubmit="window.open('https://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=writingofriding', 'popupwindow', 'scrollbars=yes,width=550,height=520');return true"><p>Enter your email address:</p><p><input type="text" style="width:140px" name="email"/></p><input type="hidden" value="writingofriding" name="uri"/><input type="hidden" name="loc" value="en_US"/><input type="submit" value="Subscribe" /><p>Delivered by <a href="https://feedburner.google.com" target="_blank">FeedBurner</a></p></form>

Edit the form code to remove all inline CSS styles, all JavaScript, update the form’s action attribute and clean up the input fields so they can inherit the campaign template’s default form styling. After modification your form code should look similar to the following:

<form action="https://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=writingofriding" method="post">

    <input type="email" name="email" placeholder="Email Address" />
    <input type="hidden" value="writingofriding" name="uri" />
    <input type="hidden" name="loc" value="en_US" />
    <input type="submit" value="Subscribe" />

</form>

FAQs

Q: Can I still use the Success tab settings with a Custom HTML form?

A: No. When using the Custom HTML integration option, the Success Message and Redirect URL settings in the Success panel of the Builder will not be applied to your custom form. You’ll need to specify a redirect URL through your Feedburner Account settings.
